Everyone Active Sporting Champions frequency asked questions:
The Sporting Champions scheme, now in its sixth year, supports up-and-coming, talented athletes by providing them with free access to our training facilities across the country. The scheme holds mentoring sessions throughout the year covering a range of topics, offering advice and support on any challenges the athletes may encounter throughout their sporting career.
Applications will be open on the Sporting Champions website from April 1 – April 30
To apply for Everyone Active Sporting Champions we require applicants to fulfil certain criteria. To see our full application requirements go to our How To Apply page.
From regional competitors to Olympians, we support athletes at all levels. As a minimum, the applicant must either be:
• A nationally ranked athlete
• Member of a regional squad with regional results in the previous 2 years or represented at regional level in the previous 2 years
• Finished top eight at regionals or equivalent competition in the previous 2 years
Terms and conditions
• The above criteria is a guidance for the Sporting Champions team who will determine the distribution of Sporting Champions memberships. Olympic and Paralympic sports will be prioritised but applications will also be considered from sports that fall under Sport England’s jurisdiction
• If a category is oversubscribed then international experience will be taken into account
• The scheme may ask for proof of sporting achievements as part of the decision making process
• Successful athletes will be required to update the scheme on their sporting achievements throughout the year
Athletes successfully accepted onto he scheme will be notified by email in May
Athletes successfully accepted onto the scheme must show their confirmation email at their local centre where they can set up their Sporting Champions membership
