Plymouth-born Tonia Couch is one of the most successful female British divers. Competing in both the 10m Platform and Synchro, Tonia has grown to become a successful international contender.
Since her Olympic debut in 2008, Tonia has gone from strength to strength. In 2012, Tonia and her diving partner shone with a European gold medal and World Series bronze. She also did incredibly well to finish 5th in front of a home crowd at the London 2012 Olympic Games.
The duo built on their success again in 2014, achieving silver in the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. In 2015, Tonia collected four bronze medals for her individual performances and was overall series champion for that year.
With a new diving partner, Tonia had a fantastic season in 2016 as the pair picked up three World Series Medals in Canada, China and Dubai. Individually, Tonia also picked up a World Series Individual silver in Kazan as well as a European Championship Individual silver in London.
Tonia’s 2017 season kicked off in style, after taking the Women’s 10m Synchro title and a silver medal in the Mixed 10m Synchro at The British National Diving Cup.
When she is not competing around the world, Tonia trains at the Plymouth Life Centre.
